Last month I mentioned posing guides and other resources for new models.

When meeting with a new model, or a client that wants a photo shoot, I will provide them with some resource materials. It will cover some basics about posing, about why a 'S' curve can look good, what to do with your hands (and what not to do with them), what are the classic poses for a basic portfolio (an no, it does not need to include a swimwear, nude or semi-nude), what are some of the other typical poses and why are they "good" poses. There is similar advice for female models as well. :-)

I'll also have guides for them about preparing for a photo shoot. Their choice of outfits, hair, nails, make-up, jewelry and props. Its all designed to take some of the stress away and so the model is more relaxed and natural during the shoot (as natural as you can be while a photographer is asking you to hold an unnatural feeling pose which will photograph really well).

Its part of our approach to new and emerging models. We want them to succeed. We get better photos. They get better photos and we get extra bragging rights when they become really successful, or when they just love the experience so much that they come back for more, or tell their friends.
