We are lucky enough that because we are "amateur", we don't have to push new models hard. Our approach is not "time is money", so we don't rush and pressure models, but we get to know them, treat them gently and help to build their confidence.

Soon enough, if they want to pursue modelling as a part-time or full-time career they'll find themselves in the high-pressure, time-locked situations. Hopefully they will be able to draw on their time working with Michael Visual Productions to progress in their career and offer some gentle support for others.

Because we have had a focus on helping new models, or people thinking about modeling, to build a basic portfolio we are often working with inexperienced models. They have lots of questions, even if they are afraid to ask them. Where we can, we'll meet with new or aspirant models a week or so before a first shoot to get to know them and for them to get to know their photographer. If they have ideas about what they want, we'll see if we can incorporate it. If they are not sure what they want, we have guides for them.

Its all about creating great images. Creating great images is so much easier when the models are comfortable that they understand the process and that people respect them and their aspirations.
